# Placing Your First Bet on HoodShot

> Stake in USD or ETH, confirm one transaction, and get a provably fair result in seconds. Payouts arrive automatically.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose a game and your pick">
    Coin Flip: heads or tails. Dice: one to three die faces. Plinko: an 8-row or 12-row board. The panel shows your live win chance and multiplier as you change the pick.

  <Step title="Set your stake">
    Enter the stake in USD (the ETH equivalent shows beneath) or use the quick buttons. **MAX** stakes your full balance minus the 1% fee and a gas reserve. Minimum and maximum stakes come live from the contract and adjust with house liquidity and your chosen odds.

  <Step title="Confirm the transaction">
    Review the confirm dialog: pick, stake, fee, and potential payout. Approve it in your wallet. Bets are final once placed.

  <Step title="Watch the result">
    The house signs your bet within a couple of seconds, the animation replays the signed outcome, and the result panel appears under the game with your win or loss.

## After the result

* **Collect** pays any amount owed to you instantly, at the cost of your own gas.
* **Do nothing** and the keeper settles the bet on-chain for you within seconds, at no cost to you. The outcome is identical either way. If it settles while you watch, the page tells you the payout already arrived.
* **Share** renders a ticket with a verification link, and **verify** proves the outcome was fair: see [Verify a bet](/concepts/verify-a-bet).

  The multiplier shown in the app is always the live paid multiplier for the current house configuration, so the panel is the source of truth for what a win pays right now.
