Most issues players run into on Hoodshot come down to one of three things: wallet configuration, network settings, or transaction errors. This guide walks through the most common problems and their solutions so you can get back to playing as quickly as possible.
If your wallet isn’t connecting to Hoodshot, work through these steps in order:

Confirm the browser extension is installed and unlocked

Open your browser’s extensions panel and check that MetaMask (or your chosen wallet extension) is installed and that you’re logged in. A locked wallet cannot authorize a connection.

Refresh the page

A simple page refresh resolves the majority of connection hiccups caused by stale session state.

Try a different browser

Some browser extensions or security settings interfere with wallet connections. Try Chrome or Brave with the MetaMask extension if you’re on another browser.

Check your network

Your wallet must be set to the Robinhood network. If you’re connected to Ethereum mainnet, a testnet, or any other chain, the connection may be refused or behave unexpectedly. See the next section for how to switch networks.

Disable conflicting extensions

Ad blockers, privacy extensions, or other wallet extensions can block the connection request. Temporarily disable them and try again.
Hoodshot only works on the Robinhood network. If your wallet is connected to a different chain, you won’t be able to place bets or see your correct balance.

Open your wallet

Click the MetaMask extension icon (or open your WalletConnect-linked wallet app).

Go to Networks

At the top of MetaMask, click the network name dropdown (it may show “Ethereum Mainnet” or another chain). Select Networks.

Switch to Robinhood network

Select the Robinhood network from the list. If it isn’t listed yet, you’ll need to add it manually using the network’s RPC details, check the official Hoodshot site for the correct parameters.

Confirm and reload

After switching, reload the Hoodshot page. Your balance and game options should now reflect your Robinhood network holdings.
A transaction gets stuck when the gas price you submitted is too low for the current level of network congestion. Miners and validators prioritize transactions that offer higher fees.To speed up the transaction: Open your wallet, find the pending transaction, and select Speed Up. This resubmits the transaction with a higher gas price, making it more likely to be included in the next block.To cancel the transaction: If you’d rather cancel entirely, select Cancel in your wallet. This submits a zero-value transaction to yourself at a higher gas price, which effectively replaces and cancels the original.
You can only speed up or cancel a transaction while it is still pending (not yet included in a block). Once it has been confirmed, it is final and cannot be reversed.
On-chain transactions require block confirmation before the result is available. Depending on network traffic, this may take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or more.

Wait for confirmation

Give the transaction at least one full block confirmation before assuming something is wrong.

Check the block explorer

Copy the transaction hash from your wallet’s activity history and paste it into the Robinhood network block explorer. Look for a Success status and review the contract events to see the outcome recorded on-chain.

Reload the Hoodshot page

Once the transaction is confirmed on-chain, refreshing the page should display the result in your bet history.
A payout only lands once the bet is settled on-chain, which is a second transaction after your placeBet. The keeper normally sends it within seconds. If your winnings have not arrived:
  • Give it a few seconds. Settlement is a separate transaction. If the keeper is briefly busy, press Collect on the result to settle it yourself immediately (you pay only the gas).
  • Confirm the bet settled. Look up your bet on Blockscout and check for a Settled event. No Settled event means the bet is still open, so collect it yourself.
  • Check the outcome. The Settled event carries the payout. A losing bet pays 0 (or, on Plinko, a partial amount): that is the result, not a missing payout. Use the bet’s verify button to confirm the outcome was fair.
  • Check for a claimable balance. In rare cases the contract credits your payout on-chain instead of pushing it, and you claim it with one transaction. If so, the app shows a claimable balance. See Your Funds.
HoodShot cannot manually issue or reverse payouts. Everything is done by the contract. If a bet shows a Settled event with a payout and the funds are genuinely missing, ask in the community with your bet id.
If Hoodshot isn’t loading correctly or you’re seeing unexpected errors, try the following:

Hard refresh the page

Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to bypass the cache and load a fresh version of the page.

Clear your browser cache

Go to your browser settings → Privacy / History → Clear browsing data. Select cached images and files, then reload the site.

Try incognito / private mode

Open a new incognito window and navigate to Hoodshot. This rules out extensions or cached data causing the issue.

Try a different browser or device

If the problem persists, test on a different browser or device to determine whether it’s a local configuration issue.
If your balance shows as zero or isn’t displaying at all:
  • Check wallet connection. Make sure your wallet is connected to Hoodshot. Look for the connected address in the top-right corner of the site. If you see a “Connect Wallet” button instead, your session has disconnected, reconnect and the balance should appear.
  • Verify you’re on the correct network. Your balance on the Robinhood network won’t be visible if your wallet is set to a different chain. Switch to the Robinhood network (see the network troubleshooting section above).
  • Refresh your wallet. Some wallet apps need a manual refresh to display an up-to-date balance. Look for a refresh or sync option inside your wallet.
Gas fees on any network fluctuate based on how many transactions are competing for block space. When the network is congested, fees spike.
  • Wait for off-peak hours. Network activity tends to be lower during nights and weekends in high-traffic regions. Trying your transaction at a different time often results in significantly lower fees.
  • Check current gas prices. Some wallet apps show a real-time gas estimate. If the fee looks unusually high, wait and check again later.
  • Adjust gas manually. Advanced users can set a lower gas price manually and wait longer for confirmation during quieter periods. Be careful not to set the price so low that the transaction never gets picked up.
